More than 80 celebrities donate items for charity sale
Claudia Winkleman’s favourite sweater, featuring the logo from hit BBC reality show The Traitors, is set to go under the hammer as part of a star-studded charity auction.
More than 80 celebrities have donated personal items to War Child’s Spring Clean, an annual fundraiser giving the public the chance to own one-of-a-kind memorabilia while supporting a vital cause.
Claudia Winkelman’s ‘favourite sweater’ up for grabs
Winkleman, 53, who hosts The Traitors, has parted with her oversized red sweat vest, which prominently displays The Traitors logo. The sweater, a gift from a friend, holds special sentimental value for the presenter.
“It’s an honour to support War Child, and I will always help in any small way that I can. This is my favourite sweater of all time. A brilliant woman made it for me, and I actually skipped about when I opened it.”
The item is particularly notable as Winkleman wore it to the press launch of series three of The Traitors, a show that has gained a cult following for its deception-based gameplay and dramatic twists.
Winkleman has become a fashion icon on the show, regularly seen sporting sweeping coats, chic turtleneck jumpers, fingerless gloves, and bold eye makeup.
Celebrity donations include signed albums, guitars, and a tea date
The Spring Clean auction features an impressive array of exclusive and personal celebrity items, spanning music, film, and television.
Among the highly sought-after donations are:
- A Twisters: The Album vinyl, signed by actress Daisy Edgar-Jones.
- A handwritten recipe by US actor and food enthusiast Stanley Tucci.
- A poster autographed by Ed Sheeran.
- A guitar signed by singer-songwriter James Bay.
- Two tickets to Aurora’s upcoming OVO Arena Wembley show.
- A crocheted jacket from Eurovision star Sam Ryder.
However, one of the most unique auction items is an exclusive tea and chat session with The X-Files actress and War Child ambassador Gillian Anderson.
Anderson, 55, has offered a one-of-a-kind experience, inviting three members of the public to join her for a cosy afternoon tea at one of her favourite spots in London.
“I’m so proud to be supporting Spring Clean for its second year. This time around, I’m donating a cosy tea and chat with me and two of your friends at a favourite tea spot in London. Of course, all of this is for an incredibly urgent cause.”
War child’s mission: Helping children affected by conflict
The Spring Clean auction is organised by War Child UK, a charity dedicated to supporting children affected by war and conflict.
The auction, which runs from 3rd April to 24th April, allows fans and collectors to bid on exclusive celebrity memorabilia, with all proceeds going towards life-changing programmes for children in some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones.
Charlotte Nimmo, fundraising engagement director at War Child UK, expressed gratitude for the incredible support from the entertainment industry:
“We are delighted to announce the second year of Spring Clean, made possible through the hugely generous support of the creative industries and remarkable individuals who have decided to donate this year.”
How to take part in the auction
Fans who wish to bid on these exclusive celebrity donations can do so by visiting the official War Child Spring Clean auction website between 3rd April and 24th April.
With such unique and personal items on offer, the auction is expected to attract enthusiastic bidding from both collectors and fans alike.
For those wanting to support War Child’s mission but unable to participate in the auction, donations to the charity can also be made directly through its website.

The Spring Clean charity auction is a rare opportunity to own exclusive celebrity memorabilia while supporting a crucial cause.
