Afghanistan, May 29, 2024:
On Friday evening, a shooting attack in Bamyan province, central Afghanistan, led to the death of three Spanish visitors as well as three Afghan citizens. The six were touring the crowded bazaar of Bamyan city, which is famous for its spectacular beauty and is a favorite place for tourists.
The two dead bodies have been taken to the forensic department in Kabul while still there, said Abdul Mateen Qani, the message man in charge of this great nation‘s homeland office; also among those who sustained injuries include four non – citizens as well as many residents who are being treated at hospitals within this country including an aged lady from abroad who is said to be very ill.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez mourned his compatriots and offered consolation to the victim’s families. On the other hand, the European Union rejected the act and was sympathetic to the families that had been affected.
The Taliban administration regained control of Afghanistan in 2021 and promised to bring back peace and encourage visitors to their region. But this latest assault was the most lethal since they took over. Seven suspects were arrested in connection with the assault.
