President Joe Biden has expressed that the US Supreme Court immunity provided to former President Donald Trump has set a ‘dangerous precedent’ and is a ‘terrible disservice to’ Americans.
Moreover, the Republican presidential contender has complimented the judgement as a “big win” for democracy, BBC notified.
The magistrates judged on Monday that a president cannot be charged for any act that is within his constitutional authorities but can be done for personal actions.
The Democratic contender responding to the judgment claimed, “This nation was founded on the principle that there are no kings in America. Every one of us is equal before the law. No one is above the law, not even the president of the United States.”
He claimed, “The court’s decision meant there were now virtually no limits on what a president could do.”
“It’s a dangerous precedent because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law,” Biden expressed. “The only limits will be self-imposed by the president alone.”
This is the very first term Biden has articulated from the White House since his unstable presidential controversy against Trump the previous week.
Till now, many supporters and Democrats have candidly been examining his capacity to handle the government.
