Rajendra Kalia, a Hindu priest, claimed divinity on earth to cheat to get money and rape his disciple. He claimed to be able to heal the sick, draw blood from lemons, and perform miracles by igniting water. He sexually abused four women and three children. He forced his followers to work for free and pay large sums.
The victims are fighting a case against him in the High Court in London, claiming that they donated $2500 to his police and dropped the charges against him.
Rajendra Kalia took it upon himself to call all the allegations a conspiracy and tried to prove himself true by denying himself and all the allegations. The court, which had just begun, was told that after a motorcycle accident in India, he had resumed riding after a trip to Himachal Pradesh. He came to England at age 21 and established a temple in Coventry in 1986 under the name Baba Balak Naath.
Barrister Mark Jones told the judge: This is an unusual case where claimants have alleged submission to Mr Kalia’s charismatic and imposing personality. The claimants were not given the right to resist the financial and sexual demands.
A 57-year-old woman entered a temple with a man who told her she would decide whether she would go to hell or not. She was raped at least 1,320 times.
A 48-year-old woman said she was raped at the age of 21. And when she went to the police, they threatened to throw acid on her.
A 37-year-old woman says she was raped at the age of 13 and beaten so hard that her hands started bleeding. A 36-year-old woman says she was kissed inappropriately when she was 4 years old. A woman was told to leave her husband.
Mr. Kalia lives with his wife, Sachitra, in a mansion and his Barrister Sara Crowther says that he has not claimed any godhood and this is all a conspiracy against him to rob him.
The case is ever ongoing.
