On Thursday, a resolution was submitted by a member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) – Marvi Faseeh to the Sindh Assembly Secretariat to condemn derogatory remarks made by a motivational speaker named Sahil Adeem about women on a SAMAA TV show.
During the show “Mukalma” hosted by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and Ayesha Jehanzeb, Sahil Adeem stated that 95% of women in the country were “jahil” (ignorant)
Not only this, Sahil Adeem reiterated his stance when challenged by a female audience member, leading to significant backlash.
The public criticizes his comments, and even Lawyer Jibran Nasir also criticizes the way he handled the conversation with audience.
In this regards, the resolution was submitted under Sub-Rule (1) of Rule 124 of the Rules of Procedure pf the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, 2013
The resolution is expected to be included in the agenda for the next Sindh assembly session, where Marvi Faseeh will likely present it.
