Actor Avika Gor, renowned for her role in the popular TV series ‘Balika Vadhu,’ recently had a memorable experience attending a luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event was held in honor of Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Gor’s presence at the high-profile event not only validated her career achievements but also highlighted her unique connection with both Indian and Vietnamese dignitaries.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Avika Gor expressed her pride and excitement about attending the luncheon. “It was definitely a feeling of pride. It validated that I’m on the right path. Such instances give you confidence to continue doing what you believe in,” Gor shared.
The actor described her interaction with Prime Minister Modi, noting that they spoke in Gujarati. “I spoke to Modi ji in Gujarati, saying Jai Shri Krishna to him, and he seemed really happy. We have that Gujarat connection,” Gor explained. The warmth of the exchange underscored the personal connection between the two, adding a special touch to the event.
Gor also had the opportunity to converse with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, who expressed his recognition of her work. “The minute we met, he told me ‘of course I recognize you and I absolutely know how important you are to our country.’ It was really beautiful,” Gor recounted. The acknowledgment from a foreign leader added to the significance of the occasion for the actor.
The luncheon, which brought together prominent figures from both countries, saw a mix of curiosity and admiration from attendees. Gor noted that many Indian guests were intrigued by her presence and asked about her connection to Vietnam. “A lot of Indian people ended up asking me what my connection was with Vietnam out of curiosity. But the Vietnamese were really excited to see me and a lot of them clicked pictures with me, which they said they wanted to show them to their families,” Gor said.
Reflecting on the initial skepticism she had about the invitation, Gor admitted that she didn’t take it seriously at first. It was only after her father confirmed the authenticity of the invitation that she realized the gravity of the opportunity. “Getting this response from the people of Vietnam was really special because I’ve had that response from Indians all my life, but being in that space with both prime ministers, both of them saying that they recognize me, these things just melt your heart,” she said.
Gor’s attendance at the luncheon and the recognition from both prime ministers underscore her growing influence and the impact of her work beyond the Indian entertainment industry. Her experience at the event highlights the intersection of cultural diplomacy and personal achievement, showcasing how global platforms can bring together diverse individuals and celebrate their contributions.
The actor’s reflections reveal her sense of validation and encouragement, reinforcing her commitment to her career and the values she stands for. As she continues to make strides in her professional journey, Gor’s experience at the luncheon serves as a testament to her success and the broader reach of her influence.
