Air India has introduced its new wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) service, VISTA, across its wide-body fleet, with the exception of the newly inducted Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft. This innovative service, powered by Bluebox Aviation, allows passengers to stream a vast range of entertainment content directly to their personal devices, marking Air India’s foray into wireless in-flight streaming.
Passengers using VISTA can access the service on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices, offering flexibility and convenience. In addition to entertainment, the service also includes a live map feature for flight tracking, helping passengers stay informed during their journey. Bluebox Aviation, which has a solid track record through its partnership with Vistara, provides the technology to ensure smooth streaming and an enjoyable in-flight experience.
Kevin Birchmore, VP of Global Sales at Bluebox Aviation, expressed excitement about the collaboration with Air India, saying, “Together, we aim to set new standards for a customised customer experience and uninterrupted enjoyment that reflects both Air India’s commitment to excellence and our commitment to engaging and entertaining customers on board.”
Air India’s content library, available through VISTA, features over 950 hours of entertainment. This includes award-winning films, popular TV series, short films, and a curated selection for children, ensuring a broad array of options for all types of passengers. The content is updated regularly to keep the offerings fresh and engaging.
Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, emphasized the airline’s dedication to enhancing the passenger experience, stating, “At Air India, we are continuously striving to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of our modern travellers. VISTA allows seamless integration of personal devices, enhancing the overall travel experience for our customers.”
With the launch of VISTA, Air India joins the growing trend of airlines providing wireless in-flight entertainment, offering passengers greater flexibility and a personalized travel experience. The service is expected to roll out on additional aircraft as Air India continues to expand its in-flight offerings.
