In a dramatic turn of events inside the Celebrity Big Brother house, EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer has emerged as the housemate with the highest number of nominations for eviction. She now faces the public vote alongside Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd and television presenter Trisha Goddard, as tensions continue to rise in the ITV1 reality series.
The nominations were revealed ahead of Tuesday night’s highly anticipated live eviction show, where viewers will decide which celebrity will be next to leave the Big Brother house.
JoJo Siwa speaks out
One of the most surprising votes against Palmer came from Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa, who expressed mixed feelings about her decision. “Patsy has been an asset to the house. She’s been cooking, she’s been beautiful, she’s been amazing,” JoJo said, before explaining her reasoning. “But I have seen a side of Patsy that has been a bit, I like to call it finger pointy. I think team players are what we need in the house, and I think Patsy hasn’t really shown that in the last few days.”
Palmer, known for her fiery portrayal of Bianca Jackson on EastEnders, has remained a strong personality in the house, but it seems her recent behaviour has raised eyebrows among her fellow celebrities.
Nomination breakdown
While Patsy topped the nominations tally, both Trisha Goddard and Jack P. Shepherd received four votes each, putting them in equal peril of being the next to go. Trisha was nominated by Chesney Hawkes, Chris Hughes, Ella Rae Wise and Palmer herself. Meanwhile, Jack found himself on the receiving end of votes from Angellica Bell, Danny Beard, Donna Preston and Trisha.
This trio now faces the judgement of the British public, who have been vocal on social media about their favourites and frustrations, especially in light of recent controversial events in the house.
Mickey Rourke’s controversial exit
The nominations come on the heels of the voluntary exit of Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, aged 72, who left the programme over the weekend following repeated breaches of the show’s code of conduct. ITV confirmed that Rourke was removed after “further use of inappropriate language” and “instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
Rourke had previously been reprimanded by Big Brother after allegedly directing offensive language towards JoJo Siwa, with remarks targeting her sexuality. Matters escalated further when he reportedly used “sexual language” towards TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise and displayed behaviour that was deemed “threatening and aggressive” towards Love Island’s Chris Hughes.
Despite being saved from eviction by the public vote on Friday—when he was up against former MP Sir Michael Fabricant and Jack P. Shepherd—Rourke ultimately chose to exit the house. In a parting statement, he offered a public apology: “I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. Because I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.”
Fabricant first out
Sir Michael Fabricant holds the distinction of being the first contestant to be evicted from the house this series, following the opening week’s eviction vote. His departure marked the beginning of what has already become one of the most unpredictable and drama-filled seasons in recent memory.
What’s next?
With the next live eviction looming, the fate of Patsy Palmer, Trisha Goddard, and Jack P. Shepherd now lies in the hands of the viewing public. As alliances shift and personalities clash, the drama inside the Big Brother house shows no sign of slowing down.
Celebrity Big Brother continues Tuesday at 9pm on ITV1.
