Wales Kate Middleton, June 17, 2024
The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton holds a new royal title given by King Charles III as she has cancer. Confirming the historic title of Royal Companion of the Order of the Companions of Honour was made by Buckingham Palace on the 25th of April, 2023. This accolade is awarded to people who have excelled in various fields ranging from arts, sciences, medicine to public service.
The new title is considered as support from King Charles himself, who is also a cancer patient aged 75 years. The monarch has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving some form of treatment, as is the princess. It is common knowledge that Charles has a close bond with Middleton, to the extent that the king once recounted how Prince William proposed to Middleton in Kenya in 2010.
It was in March that Middleton came to the public with a video statement in which she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemo.
She has since made updates on her health with the message that she is “on the right track,” though noting the progress of chemotherapies comes in phases, such as good and bad ones.
The princess has also received kind words and support from fans since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The change of title shows that Middleton is so devoted to her royal duties or her country and people despite being sickless.
Her first public outing since her diagnosis of COVID-19 was on June 15, where she attended King Charles’ birthday parade, known as Trooping the Colour.
