Mumbai: Renowned actor Rajpal Yadav, celebrated for his comic roles and memorable performances in Bollywood, is making headlines for a different reason. The actor, who is set to appear in the upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has recently found himself in a legal and financial dilemma. Reports indicate that a property owned by Yadav in Shahjahanpur has been sealed by a bank in Mumbai due to unpaid debts.
According to a report by PTI, Rajpal Yadav had established a production house named ‘Navrang Godavari Entertainment Limited’ in 2005, using his parents’ name. To fund this venture, he secured a loan of ₹5 crore from a Mumbai-based bank, with his property in Shahjahanpur used as collateral. However, Yadav’s financial troubles have escalated, and he reportedly owes the bank a total of ₹11 crore.
Manish Verma, the manager of the Shahjahanpur branch of the Central Bank of India, confirmed that the actor had initially borrowed the loan from the bank’s Mumbai branch. As a result of the mounting debt, a team from the Mumbai bank recently took the drastic step of sealing a portion of Yadav’s Shahjahanpur property.
Local sources revealed that the bank officials executed the sealing operation in a hurried manner, neglecting to turn off electrical appliances in the property. This lapse has caused concern among the locals, who noted the lack of care in handling the situation. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena stated that the local police were not informed about the property sealing and had no involvement in the process.
Rajpal Yadav, known for his iconic comic timing and versatile roles, has faced financial challenges despite his successful career. The sealing of his property marks a significant setback for the actor, who is still active in the film industry. His fans and the public will be watching closely to see how Yadav addresses this situation and manages his financial and legal issues in the coming months.
