Sadie Sink has teased fans with insights into the upcoming Stranger Things finale, revealing that the final episode will be nothing short of spectacular.
The 22-year-old actress, who has played Max Mayfield in the hit sci-fi series since 2017, shared that the last instalment—set to be released in October and November this year—will take the show to new heights.
“I had gotten a little piece of information about the final episode back when we were working on season four, but I didn’t know if that had stuck or changed in any way,” she told Teen Vogue.
“But it was all kind of revealed when we read the final script. There’s always a lot of world-building done, but I think in this season especially, they really push the limits of that and what audiences have seen so far.
“That kind of surprised me, how they really opened everything up.”
With Stranger Things having built a reputation for shocking twists, high-stakes drama, and breathtaking visuals, it seems the Duffer Brothers are determined to outdo themselves one last time.
Growing up in the public eye
Beyond discussing the show’s highly anticipated finale, Sadie also spoke about the challenges of growing up as a young woman in the entertainment industry.
Having made her Stranger Things debut at just 14, she reflected on how her experience in the spotlight changed as she got older.
“There was definitely a shift in mentality when you start being perceived as a woman,” she said.
“There’s just this whole other part of feminism and womanhood that becomes clearer the older you get, in different ways.
“You have to start looking out for yourself and defending yourself…. As I was turning 18, 19, I don’t want to say it took a darker turn, but it kind of became scarier.”
Her comments highlight an issue that many young female celebrities face—navigating fame while dealing with heightened scrutiny and unrealistic expectations.
Standing with Millie Bobby Brown
Sadie also touched on the recent remarks made by her Stranger Things co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, who has been vocal about the difficulties of growing up in the public eye.
Last month, Millie, 21, called out the media for “bullying” her over her appearance, saying that journalists had spent years “dissecting my face, my body, my choices” and expecting her to remain “frozen in time” as a child actor.
While acknowledging that her own experience had been different, Sadie expressed solidarity with her friend.
“I had a little bit of a different experience, but I can relate to everything she said,” she admitted.
“I mean, as women and just as human beings, we naturally grow up and find ourselves. Doing that in the public eye, under scrutiny, definitely is this added pressure that men do not receive.”
An epic conclusion awaits
With filming on the final season of Stranger Things well underway, the countdown to the show’s conclusion has begun.
Sink’s revelations about the finale pushing boundaries suggest that fans can expect an unforgettable conclusion to the beloved series. Whether this means an expansion of the Stranger Things universe, jaw-dropping plot twists, or emotional goodbyes, one thing is clear: the Duffer Brothers are not holding back.
For fans, October and November cannot come soon enough.
