China has claimed that “India has no right to carry out development in the contested border region that it refers to as South Tibet,” reported in The Samaa News.
The declaration appeared from China’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. It reacted to a Reuters report about New Delhi’s programs to speed up the growth of hydropower projects in the northeastern border state.
“South Tibet is China’s territory,” declared a spokesperson for the foreign ministry in a statement. The spokesperson further stated that India’s establishment of Arunachal Pradesh on Chinese territory is “illegal and invalid.”
As per Reuters News, India aims to spend $1 billion to rapidly hunt down the structure of 12 hydropower stations in Arunachal Pradesh. India’s Foreign Ministry has not yet remarked on China’s announcement.
The northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh has been a controversial problem for a long time among the two neighbouring countries.
India claims, “The remote state is an integral part of its territory.” However, China claims it “As part of southern Tibet and has consistently objected to Indian infrastructure projects in the area.”
The previous week, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar visited his Chinese ambassador Wang Yi in Kazakhstan. The two ambassadors acquiesced to strengthen strives to solve proceeding problems along their refuted border.
