For the next fortnight, the Government reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs10.2 and Rs2.33, respectively.
As per the Finance Minister, this decision has been influenced by the mixed trends in the International petroleum market. Moreover, Sourced stated that the government was expected to convey the impact of lower international prices to consumers.
Petrol price reduced by Rs10.2 per liter which makes the price Rs258.16 per litre.
Simultaneously, the High-Speed Diesel (HSD) price was reduced by Rs2.33 per litre, which makes the price Rs267.89 per litre.
In International Market Trends, petrol price declined by about $3.75 and HSD price by $2.7 per barrel.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that this reduction is a gift, particularly of Eid-ul-Azha.
It is a relief for consumers.In the last fortnight, the import premium on petrol decreased to $9.5 per barrel from $9.7 and the rupee value remained stable.
Petroleum and electricity prices are the significant factors of inflation. This reduction is expected to ease these inflation rates.
