The International News notified us that HSD hiked by Rs9.56 per litre, which is in line with the “increasing trend in the international market.”
According to an authorised statement on Sunday, the petrol price in Pakistan has risen by Rs7.45 per litre from Rs258.16 to Rs265.61 for the next fortnight, in sequence with the instability in international oil rates.
The Finance Division officially announced the newest prices, which it articulated had been functioned by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), founded on the price deviations in the global demand.
As per the notice, the rates of high-speed diesel (HSD) have also grown by Rs9.56 to Rs 277.45 per litre. The latest fuel rates will reach into final decision from July 1.
Products | Existing price | New price | Increase/Decrease |
Petrol | Rs258.16 | Rs265.61 | +Rs7.45 |
High-Speed Diesel (HSD) | Rs267.89 | Rs277.45 | +9.56 |
“The prices of Petroleum products have seen an increasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight,” the official notice ordered.
The modifications in fuel costs are the foremost since the June 12 statement of the federal budget for fiscal year 2024-25.
The Finance Division communicated that “ The applicable taxes and duties would remain at the existing level, as the government had notified us in the Budget FY25.”
The administration raised the petroleum growth levy (PDL) by Rs10 per litre in the budget—from Rs60 to Rs70—further encumbering the inflation-hit mobs.
However, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb ascribed before today that ” the increased levy on petroleum products was not being imposed immediately, meaning that the PDL remains the same in the latest fuel price review.”
Before this, the government had offered an incremental relief of Rs35 per litre by lowering the petrol rates in the previous four fortnightly reviews.
