ISLAMABAD: To offer a suitable wheat rate, President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting, assembling convenient discussions and facilitating the procurement procedure to safeguard the welfare of agriculturalists.
President Zardari expressed these sentiments during a meeting to concern topics linked to wheat procurement in the nation. Minister for National Food Security and Research (NFS&R) Rana Tanveer Hussain and senior officials of the Ministry of NFS&R and Passco followed the discussion.
President was discussing shortly during the meeting about the problems that are challenging for farmers regarding wheat procurement and dispersal of wheat procurement bags to farmers. President Zardari claimed that farmers were required to get sustained and appreciated, which enabled them to enhance wheat production in the country.
Farmers are not obtaining affordable rates for wheat crops, president felt pain for them. Furthermore, they are facing problems in obtaining wheat procurement bags (Bar Dana).
President Asif Zardari mentioned that approximately 65% of the state’s population was living in village areas, and offering reasonable wheat rates to farmers would enable them to enhance rural finance. He highlighted the balancing methodology of food resources was important to guarantee food protection and inbound the future demands of the states.
He further claimed that soft loans should be expanded to the confidential institution to build up silos and advanced wheat depositary opportunities to inbound the food requirements of the developing population.
The president pressured the demand for the facilities of credible data relevant to crops to construct timely strategic steps as well as reasonably forecast the future requirements of the states. He also recommended that the agriculture institutions should be deregulated.
