A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash involving two cars in Northolt early on Monday morning. The incident, which left one man dead, is now under investigation, and police are appealing for witnesses and information.
At approximately 4.40am, a BMW was spotted by a patrolling police car on Ruislip Road due to its alleged excessive speed, according to a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police. The officers began to follow the vehicle but were unable to prevent the collision, which occurred moments later. The BMW collided with a Ford Focus, being driven by a 47-year-old man.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade, were quickly dispatched to the scene. Tragically, the driver of the Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed, and they are being provided with support during this difficult time.
The two occupants of the BMW, both aged 25, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
