PESHAWAR: On Monday, in a late-night operation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority secured milk adulteration in Dera Ismail Khan.
A checkpoint was appointed at Qureshi Mor to observe milk tankers reaching from Punjab and other districts, according to the details.
A mouthpiece for the Food Authority described that during the charge, samples from diverse milk supply vehicles were assembled and strained instantly using a mobile food testing laboratory.
“Over 3,000 litres of adulterated and substandard milk were found in two vehicles, leading to their immediate disposal. Substantial fines were imposed on the vehicle owners as well,” the mouthpiece counted.
Wasif Saeed, Director General of the Food Safety Authority, praised the food safety team for their attention and coached all provincial squads to strengthen assessments of food supply vehicles. He emphasised that severe actions would be executed against those encountered broadcasting substandard food, asserting that there would be no patience for infringements.
