Earlier this week, Joshua Kindred – a U.S. district judge in Alaska notified the court system about his resignation. Judge Joshua Kindred has not yet provided any public comment about the reason of departing.
He was from North Carolina, born in 1977 but was moved to Alaska after his father transferred. His father was an Air Force service member. Joshua graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage and then further attended Willamette University College of Law in Salem-Oregon.
Moving towards he started working for the Oregon Supreme Court and worked as an assistant district attorney in Alaska before being nominated as a federal judge by President Trump in 2019.
The information of his resignation was shown on the U.S. Courts website because the position of U.S. District Court Judge for Alaska appears on a list of judicial vacancies. The vacancy will be effective on the website on July 8.
According to the court website, Judge Kindred is the only federal jurist to have resigned in the past year or so.
