His support for Republicans and controversial comments have turned away some Tesla customers, affecting the carmaker’s reputation and sales. Trump and Musk have had a complicated relationship, with Trump calling Musk a “Bull***t artist” in 2022. However, they have since spoken, and Trump has appreciated Musk’s work with Tesla.
