Israel, June 11, 2024
The Israeli army bombed the central Gaza Strip, and this has allegedly claimed the lives of at least 201 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The bombings started on June 9th, 2024, and this was part of an Israeli offensive on Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, about 700 Palestinians were injured during the bombing, and there are still numerous persons remaining inside ruinous structures that remain unreachable or unknown.
They do not make the distinction between civilians and militants, and they stress the devastating effect of Israel’s attack on these inhabitants.
In response to a surprise Hamas militants’ attack on Israel, which resulted in the kidnap of four Israeli citizens, the operation was executed; with the view of rescuing the abducted and neutralizing Hamas’ military capacity or power, Israeli troops invaded Gaza.
The Israeli military campaign was met with international condemnation, and the United Nations urged Israel to allow more humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. In the ongoing conflict, at least fifty percent of the population of Gaza has been driven to “famine-like conditions” amid widespread destruction and displacement.
The historical inception of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict preceded the creation of Israel in 1948, and its unresolved issues have contributed to excessive human suffering and death.
