“We have a shared interest in threats to regional security,” says Matthew Miller, reported in The International News.
WASHINGTON: In significant growth, the US Department of State considered Pakistan’s unpaired self-denials and assistance in the battle against terrorism and claimed that “The Pakistani nation suffered greatly at the hands of terrorists.”
US State Department ambassador Matthew Miller assembled these remarks while managing a news headline in Washington on Monday.
“The Pakistani people have suffered greatly at the hands of terrorists.”
The Pakistani nation and the military forces generated unparalleled repudiations in the battle against terrorism. The country lost more than 80,000 lives at the hands of the terrorists, apart from enormous financial losses. The people and the military conquered a protracted battle travelling over many years to avoid the threat of terrorism.
“Only in 2023, more than 260 officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army spread their energies in the line of responsibility. Further to this, at least 750 civilians forfeited their lives in the terror invasion the previous year,” according to the data shared by APP.
Miller further claimed that “They have a shared interest in threats to regional security.”
“We partner with a range of Pakistani civilian institutions and regularly engage with the Pakistani government to identify opportunities to build capacity and strengthen regional security, including in our annual high-level counter-terrorism dialogue.”
Answering to another query about May 9 Mayhem, the ambassador claimed that, “His country legitimately supports freedom of expression and opposes violent actions.”
“We support legitimate, free expression including the right to protest and the right to peaceful assembly and we oppose violent actions.”
He said that all the protests should be conducted peacefully and “the governments should deal consistently with the rule of law and free speech”.
The May 9 screams were initiated almost across the country after ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s detention in the £190 million compensation case the previous year. Many PTI workers and senior leaders were placed behind fences in jail for their concern about violence and invasion of military structures.
During the marches, the villains pointed the civil and military inductions including — Jinnah House and the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The military made May 9 “Black Day” and determined to push the protesters under the Army Act.
