At Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s request, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day official visit.
At Nur Khan Airbase, President Aliyev was cordially welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was joined by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar.
The Azerbaijani leader arrived with a 21-gun salute.
President Aliyev received roses from two kids dressed in traditional attire.
President Aliyev will hold high-level talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while he is in town.
The talks will touch on a wide range of subjects with the goal of enhancing Azerbaijan and Pakistan’s bilateral cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that:
“We are honoured to host President Aliyev. This visit signifies the strong bond between our two nations and our commitment to furthering mutual interests.”
President Asif Ali Zardari echoed these sentiments, stating, “Azerbaijan and Pakistan share a rich history of friendship. We look forward to enhancing our collaboration in various sectors.”
