On Thursday, in Astana, while addressing the SCO – Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for a unified and comprehensive approach to combat terrorism and extremism. He also said that there is a need that all terrorism, be it state terrorism, must be condemned with clear and defined terms.
He stated that there was “no justification for killing innocent people or using the bogey of terrorism” for political point-scoring. “In 23 years, SCO has established itself as a credible and effective transregional organization,”
“As the permanent chair of the SCO working group, to combat poverty, Pakistan will do its utmost to provide the required impetus to our collective efforts in raising the living standards in the SCO region,” he added
Furthermore, he acknowledged that the SCO has transformed into a credible transregional organization, in its 23 years.
That’s why, it is significant to put collaborative efforts into addressing common challenges.
He also mentioned that there should be peace and stability in Afghanistan, so Interim Afghan Government have to take concrete measures to ensure its territory is not used for terrorism against any other states.
