Disposable vapes have recently become popular among the youth and children which has led to the concerns of health issues that may come with vaping and also the creation of a culture where young people do not think twice about consuming nicotine.
Disposable vapes that come in bright colors and different flavors have recently gained so much popularity within a short time because of their affordability and belief that they are safe compared to normal cigarettes.
However, the specialists are concerned due to the fact that these devices are not safe at all. Vaping has been established to contain toxic chemicals and can result in nicotine dependency, especially for first-time users who never smoked.
The negative effects of vaping on consumers’ health have not been fully established due to its relatively new use, but studies show that it decreases lung health and causes heart diseases among other effects.
The increased use of disposable vapes has been especially rampant among the youth. New research from the 2021 National Youth Tobacco Survey shows that more than 2 million middle and high school students in the U.S. use e-cigarettes and over 80% of them use flavor containing products.
Due to this trend, there have been increased concern towards the need to control the accessibility of such products to the youths.
As a result, the UK government has aimed at recently outing a total ban on disposable vapes due to their attractiveness to children and the products they produce. Similar to other nations, efforts have also been made in Australia for restricting the use of vaping products.
As the debate regarding the regulation of disposable vapes rages on, the medical community insists on the need for raising awareness among the population and, particularly, the younger generation of the dangers of using nicotine products and the necessity to make informed decisions regarding their own well-being.
