On Tuesday, During a religious gathering in a village in the Hathras region of Uttar Pradesh state, a stampede occurred.
Authorities granted permission for 80,000 people to assemble there but police reported that there were 250,000 attendees.
28 people were hurt and a minimum of 121 people died, as reported by ANI News agency.
Moreover, the event organization was done by a group of devotees who are still unidentified, as stated by Local media.
The devotees at the event included Kamla said she had been attending the preacher’s gatherings for two decades.
“I went to attend Satsang (religious meet) with my 16-year-old daughter and a stampede broke out around 2 in the afternoon,” she told ANI.
