BJP leaders Tarun Chugh and Satish Poonia convened in Panchkula on Monday to oversee the final preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of Haryana’s new BJP-led government, scheduled for October 17. The meeting, held at the BJP office in Panchkula, brought together key party leaders from the state to ensure that everything is in place for the historic event.
Among those present were former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and former Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia. The leaders also visited Dussehra Ground, the venue for the event, to assess the ongoing arrangements.
A Historic Moment for Haryana
Speaking about the upcoming ceremony, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh highlighted the significance of the occasion. “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP government is going to be formed in Haryana for the third time. This will be a historic moment,” Chugh said, reflecting the party’s confidence and the significance of securing a third consecutive term in the state.
Chugh expressed optimism about the upcoming tenure, noting that the BJP’s consistent success in Haryana demonstrates the party’s strength and appeal among the people. The formation of a third-term government, he stated, is a milestone not only for the state but also for the BJP, which has emerged as a dominant political force under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Top Leaders to Attend Oath-Taking Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a grand event, with high-profile leaders from across the country attending. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP President J.P. Nadda are expected to be present. Additionally, several Union ministers and chief ministers from other BJP-ruled states will also attend the ceremony.
Given the presence of these high-profile dignitaries, security arrangements at the venue are being tightened. Officials have confirmed that robust security measures are in place to ensure the event runs smoothly.
BJP’s Leadership Transition in Haryana
Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister in March 2024, was the party’s chief ministerial candidate in the recently concluded Haryana Assembly elections. The BJP’s win marks the third consecutive term for the party, a significant achievement in a competitive political landscape.
On Sunday, the BJP parliamentary board appointed Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as central observers for the election of the state legislature party leader in Haryana. This meeting, which will finalize the legislative leadership, is expected to take place a day before the swearing-in ceremony.
BJP Secures Third Term in Haryana
The BJP secured its third term in the Haryana Assembly polls, the results of which were declared on October 8, 2024. The party won 48 seats, while the Congress secured 37 seats in the 90-member assembly. The BJP’s win solidifies its position as the dominant political force in the state, despite a hard-fought contest with the Congress.
Satish Poonia, BJP’s Haryana affairs in-charge, praised the people of Haryana for the historic mandate, expressing gratitude for their continued faith in the party. “The people of Haryana have created history by giving a mandate to the BJP for the third time,” Poonia said.
Poonia added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Haryana will continue to progress. “In the third term, the BJP government in Haryana will work to make the state a developed and progressive state under the guidance of PM Modi,” he said.
A Vision for Development
Both Chugh and Poonia emphasized that the BJP’s success in Haryana is a result of its commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people. “The BJP is a party that delivers on its promises. We fulfill the aspirations of the people, and we will continue to do so,” said Poonia.
Sanjay Bhatia, the coordinator for the swearing-in ceremony, echoed these sentiments, stating that October 17 will be a landmark day for the state. “The BJP is going to form the government for the third time. The public has put its stamp of approval on the path of progress that Haryana has taken. Winning for the third consecutive time is proof of the public’s unwavering faith in our government,” Bhatia said.
As the BJP gears up for the swearing-in of its third-term government in Haryana, the party is focused on ensuring a smooth transition and continued development for the state. With top leaders set to attend the event and robust security measures in place, the October 17 ceremony is poised to be a significant milestone in Haryana’s political history.
