Coming back to the part of the surprise twist, a 74-year-old woman, Constance Glantz was declared dead at a nursing facility in Waverly of Nebraska but revived later at a funeral home in Lincoln. This sad event occurred on Monday when members of the funeral home observed that she was alive during the process of embalming her corpse for burial.
Glantz had been under hospice care at Mulberry Nursing Home when she was pronounced dead by staff at 9:44 a.m. However, an investigation revealed that the funeral home employee who started the procedure of embalming her body for burial woke her up when he noticed her breathing and rushed her to the hospital. The woman was then cared for by emergency medical workers from Lincoln Fire and Rescue, who performed CPR before taking her to a hospital.
Since then, the authorities are still working on the case with Ben Houchin, the Chief Deputy of Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, claiming that there was no criminal conduct in the nursing home. The above event is not isolated, with previous similar events having occurred in the past in places such as Iowa, Michigan, and South Africa.
Glantz died on Monday at 4 p.m. in the hospital. The family has been informed that an autopsy was conducted, and the results will be released in twelve weeks. The story is a perfect example of how one should exercise caution and how life is indeed full of surprises.
