SEOUL: A maximum of nine people were annihilated and four others were bruised when a car hit pedestrians near Seoul city hall on Monday, police claimed, reported by Dawn News.
At least, there were 6 fatalities at the spot, while three others were enunciated lifeless after being flowed to hospital, firefighter Kim Chun-soo articulated.
South Korea’s Yonhap news agency informed, “that a 68-year-old driver hit into people who were waiting at a traffic signal. He was driving in the wrong direction and hit two other vehicles before ploughing into the pedestrians,” Yonhap claimed.
A man was jailed by police over the happening, claimed Kim Suk-hwan, security and transportation director at the city’s Jung-gu district office. “Inquiries are underneath to decide if narcotics or alcohol were implicated, as well as whether the cadaverous happening was rendered by unexpected acceleration,” Kim claimed.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon described “a very sad accident” as he dwelled at the collision site, according to city authorities. He also requested officials to “take the victims to the hospital quickly and thoroughly identify the cause of the accident”. Contaminated transportation accidents with numerous deaths are infrequent in South Korea, which typically has well-balanced routes and vehicles.
