Members were directed to points regarding ghost nursing colleges,” a representative for PMDC said in The International News.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has explained that no ‘ghost medical college’ lives in the motherland. The regulatory body’s monitoring teams review all public and private medical colleges daily.
“There are no ghost medical colleges at all. The Senate panel never discussed that issue. Instead, the members were referring to issues concerning ghost nursing colleges,” a representative for the PMDC claimed on Tuesday.
Senator Dr Humayun Mohmand, a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Health, also explained that he had noted the presence of ‘ghost nursing colleges’ during the appointment but counted that the press dismissal published by the Senate Media Cell turned his words, offering the formation that he was directing to ghost medical colleges.
“I have mentioned about the presence of ghost nursing schools and colleges which are producing low, poor quality nurses,” Dr. Humayun Mohmand explained.
