Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, at the “Rising Rajasthan Investors Meet” in London on Thursday, emphasized the vast investment opportunities in the state and extended an invitation to UK investors for the upcoming ‘Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit,’ scheduled to be held in Jaipur from December 9 to 11, 2024. The event is part of a larger global outreach effort to attract international investments and position Rajasthan as a hub for business and development.
The London event, which was also attended by the High Commissioner of India to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, marks the 11th roadshow in a series of promotional activities ahead of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also participated in the event, reinforcing the state’s commitment to fostering economic growth through international partnerships.
During his address, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal expressed optimism about Rajasthan’s economic potential and his hopes of securing significant investments from the UK. “There is a program of Rising Rajasthan in Rajasthan on December 9, 10, and 11. Before this, I had visited Korea, Japan, and now I am here in Germany and the UK. Both countries are economically strong and prosperous,” he said. Lal further highlighted that German industries are already operating in Rajasthan, reflecting the state’s ability to attract global businesses. “Certainly, we want more investors from Germany and the UK to come to Rising Rajasthan because there are immense possibilities in Rajasthan,” he added.
A key outcome of the London meeting was the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Rajasthan and UK-based investors. These agreements showcase the growing interest in Rajasthan’s market and signal a robust future for economic collaboration between the state and international investors. While details of the MoUs were not immediately disclosed, they are expected to facilitate investments in various sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
Chief Minister Lal has made a concerted effort to promote Rajasthan as a prime destination for investment. His global roadshows, which have taken him to countries like Korea, Japan, Germany, and now the UK, are part of a strategic initiative to highlight the state’s business-friendly environment, rich cultural heritage, and strong industrial base.
Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, also spoke at the event, lauding Rajasthan’s deep historical ties with the UK and its commitment to sustainable development. “One of the great things about Rajasthan is that this is a state that everybody in the UK, when they think of India, broadly seems to think of Rajasthan,” Doraiswami remarked. He emphasized that Rajasthan is poised to lead in areas critical for the future, such as conservation, sustainability, and economic growth that aligns with environmental harmony.
Doraiswami’s comments underscored the unique position Rajasthan holds in the global market. Known for its historical significance and rich cultural legacy, the state has emerged as a leader in sustainability initiatives, renewable energy, and eco-friendly industrial development. These factors make Rajasthan an attractive destination for investors looking to balance profitability with environmental responsibility.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari echoed these sentiments, highlighting Rajasthan’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for business. She emphasized that the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit would serve as a platform for forging new partnerships, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth in key sectors such as renewable energy, tourism, and information technology.
The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 aims to bring together global business leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to explore investment opportunities and form strategic alliances. With the state’s robust infrastructure, favorable policies, and proactive government support, Rajasthan offers a fertile ground for both domestic and international investors.
As preparations for the summit continue, the state government is focusing on sectors such as renewable energy, mining, tourism, and information technology, which have shown significant growth potential. With its abundant natural resources, skilled workforce, and strategic location, Rajasthan is positioning itself as a major player in India’s economic landscape.
The signing of MoUs with UK investors at the London roadshow is a promising start to what is expected to be a successful investment summit. As Chief Minister Bhajan Lal continues his global outreach efforts, the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 is set to be a pivotal event that will shape the future of investment in the state and solidify its reputation as a top destination for global investors.
