The Indian space startup of Agnikula Cosmos has had to delay its first rocket launch attempt for the fourth time now. Originally, the test flight was to occur on Tuesday; however, with a last-second scrub that occurred when a fast timer was ticking down, it could not happen.
It is a new shocker for the startup that has encountered various launch setbacks and cancellations while working on its initial rocket.Apple is said to have had plans to cancel through some technicalities which were made known.
Agnikula Cosmos has been developing its rocket named Vikram for several years and has also experienced multiple issues with it. The startup has had considerable government backing in terms of funding, but the consistent postponements have cast doubts over its capability to deliver on promises.
The cancellation of the launch has brought disapproval from investors and employees of the startup. Agnikula Cosmos has assured everyone that it will still be developing the rocket and will attempt to launch it as soon as it can.
There is no definite time when the startup will try the next launch, but there will probably be continuous efforts to iron out the technical problems that precipitated the cancellation.
The loss incurred by Agnikula Cosmos also explains the problems that the space industry in India faces. Nevertheless, the country’s space sector remains the focus of numerous challenges, most notably delay and cancellation.
The cancellation of the launch is unfortunate and detrimental to the brand image of the company as well as its prospects for success.
