A murder investigation is under way in Enfield after a 45-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her own home. Detectives have launched a public appeal for information and dashcam footage, as they continue to search for her killer.
Emergency services were called to a residential address in Ayley Croft at around 7pm on Saturday evening following reports of a stabbing. Officers from the Metropolitan Police, as well as paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, attended the scene.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
The Met Police confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident, and a crime scene remains in place. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the murder investigation, urged members of the public to come forward with any information, particularly those who may have been driving in the area at the time.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this incredibly difficult time,” said DCI John.
“As our investigation progresses, there will be an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance to residents. I understand this incident will be extremely distressing to the local community, and I encourage anyone with concerns to speak to officers on patrol.
“To assist us in piecing together what happened, we are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was driving through Ayley Croft between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and who may have dashcam footage.
“Even if the footage appears insignificant, it could provide crucial evidence that helps us establish the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

The quiet residential street where the stabbing took place remained cordoned off on Sunday, as forensics officers conducted a thorough search of the property and surrounding area. Neighbours described their shock at the incident, with one local resident telling reporters they were “devastated” to hear about the woman’s death.
“It’s awful, you don’t expect something like this on your doorstep,” said another local. “This is usually such a quiet street.”
The London Ambulance Service confirmed they had dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including advanced paramedics and an incident response officer. London’s Air Ambulance was also deployed, landing in a nearby park to assist.
This latest stabbing comes amid growing concerns about violent crime across the capital, and Enfield residents are now being urged to remain vigilant while the investigation continues.
The Met has reiterated its appeal to the public, stressing that even the smallest details can assist in solving serious crimes.

As the investigation enters its second day, the community remains in shock, mourning the loss of a woman whose life was taken far too soon. Officers are expected to remain at the scene for the foreseeable future as they gather evidence and offer support to residents shaken by the tragedy.
